Burning ethanol releases the CO2 that the plant took out of the air when it was growing earlier that year.  (As opposed to oil, where the CO2 was exctracted from the air millions of years ago).  

I&#039;m amazed at the CR article that the anti ethanol crowd is touting around.  The gist of the article states it&#039;s a bad idea for the consumer to buy an ethanol driven vehicle now because the fuel is more expensive and not available in all parts of the country.  But those factors will be eliminated with good old american and japanese ingenuity.  

I&#039;d love to give the middle finger to the middle eastern nuts and the wierdo from Venezuela.
