John McCain on sleeping like a baby

July 8th, 2006

An interviewer asked John McCain, “If you decide to run again in 2008, what would you do differently?”

(McCain lost the Republican primary to George W. Bush, after a particularly heated and vicious battle in South Carolina.)

McCain’s answer was classic:

I wouldn’t do anything differently. Look, after I lost in South Carolina, I slept like a baby: I slept two hours and woke up and cried.
